I have no idea what the other reviewers are on about on here. They almost put me off buying this product…

The Tomtom XL version 2 with the easymount port fits into the case 100% fine. It’s meant to be fairly snug otherwise it would be less protected.

I can only assume some of the reviewers on here were trying to put the Tomtom in without the easymount closed properly?

Anyway, I bought a cheap generic case and it was rubbish in comparison to this one. There aren’t many cases about for the XL v2 and this one certainly does the job it was designed for.

I have to agree with the previous reviewer. This is a very tight fit. Nimble fingers are needed because quite a bit of fiddling with the zip is required in order to fasten it. If you go into a place like Halfords don’t let them sell you this as part of a deal, but try to find a 3rd party case instead. A problem I have also discovered with this case is that with it being so tight, my Tom Tom gets switched on inside it. This means opening the case to turn it off, which leaves me with the hassle of trying to fasten it again.

This is supposed to be custom moulded to the Tom Tom XL V2 with easyport mount. I must say it really is a tight squeeze however and I would be interested to see how this case compares with the dimensions of the standard sized Tom Tom. That said it DOES fit; it just requires a bit of ‘ramming’ in. I would recommend finding a suitable 3rd party case (if you can find one that is: the V2 does not currently seem to be well catered for in this respect). Finally I should add that you won’t be surprised to learn that there is no space for the cable and adapter to be stored either.

Edit [24/03/09]: As another reviewer has pointed out, if you turn the Easyport mount through 90 degrees and put the unit in the pouch screen- towards-front it fits a LOT better (very snug in fact). Still no room for the cable though. Probably now deserves 3 STARS (4 if you’re happy without cable storage).

I was a bit wary about getting one of these after reading the reviews regarding size so looked for all the info I could on the net & it is specifically for the XL V2 so bought one & hoped for the best.

At the time Halfords did a twin pack with case & mains/travel charger for the same price as the case alone at many places so I ordered one.

I can’t imagine my case is any bigger than the others & it is a very snug fit but with the easyport mount still attatched & rotated 90 degrees it drops in easily & the zip closes without snagging at the corners so I am happy with it.

I wasn’t concerned about it being a branded case & I don’t want to carry the car charger too but I reckon this case & the deal I got makes it spot on.

It loses 1 star for the price, which has actually dropped significantly since Christmas but apart from that I’m happy.

Hope this helps.

Jonny.

it is a shame that the charger does not fit in here too, but the tom tom does perfect and with the screen mount on there. very handy!
