I bought this TV for my small living-room, to replace a big old 28″ TV that took up a whole corner of the room and looked pretty horrible, to boot.

This sleek little piece of kit is a thing of wonder – I love it! It has a DVD player integrated into the body, and Freeview functions as well. With Freeview, as well as all the extra TV stations, you also get a lot of radio too, AND of course you can play your CDs in the DVD, so all my entertainment needs are covered. According to the manual, I can even play Divx movie files and MP3 music files, and view JPEG images on it too. It’s a really neat solution if you don’t have much space.

It measures 55cm across, and is 39cm high (stand included). It’s very slim (about 7cm) and takes up very little space when it’s on the stand, on a surface. The screen is just the right size for a small room, and the sound is surprisingly enveloping.

The picture is excellent – the blacks are really dark, and other colours vibrant and vivid, whilst remaining natural. Motion seems really smooth and natural, and I haven’t noticed any ‘juddering’.

Technically, it’s picture resolution is 720p – I’ve had a look at the 1080 screens, and on a 22″ picture with a blu-ray player, it’s hard to tell the difference. There may be a small one, but it’s too minute for me to bother about.

There’s two HDMI connections – so you can watch Blu-ray if you want, and has a USB port, which is very useful if you want to play things directly. There’s also a PC input, so that you can use it as a monitor. If you have other Toshiba equipment that’s compatible with Regza, there’s a Toshiba link HDMI-Regza socket too. For older equipment, there’s composite and component connections, too.

The downsides – you’re buying an integrated DVD player, which isn’t at the forefront of technology (but you can plug in a Blu-ray player if you want). The resolution isn’t 1080p (it’s very hard to tell the difference on a screen this size). None of these things bothered me, and I doubt they’ll bother most of you either.

I love the fact my room looks bigger, and I love the design of this set. It’s Toshiba – quality kit, and comes with a 1 year guarantee. Highly recommended – the only reason I didn’t do this before was the price, but at this price I couldn’t resist. If you’ve been pondering making the switch yourself, this is a perfect moment.

This is my first review for a product on Amazon. I felt I had to write feedback on this product – It’s mostly positive!

This TV is a fantastic choice for the bedroom. The picture and sound are both very crisp for a TV of this size – better than I expected. The stock settings need a little tweaking to achieve good results, but that’s standard procedure with any new TV. I bought this model mainly because of its ability to play DivX movies and it doesn’t disappoint (via the DVD player). The USB input is a also a great addition, allowing playback of mp3’s and image files.

There are however a few minor annoyances, which is why I could not give the product five stars. Firstly, as Toshiba have gone to the trouble of installing the DivX codec I was surprised to discover it would not play DivX files via USB (pen-drive). Secondly, when browsing the EPG (programme guide) the TV switches to the channels as you browse through them, this slows down the browsing quite a bit. Fortunately Toshiba has an over-the-air software update function – I’m hoping these annoyances will be fixed in a future update.

On the whole, this TV/DVD Combi is a top quality product – It’s one of the most versatile 22″ Combi’s on the market, and Toshiba are a solid brand you can trust. I would recommend this product to friends and family. Other retailers are selling it for up to £130 more – buy it here before the price increases!
