This album represents the pinnacle of Noir Désir’s work. At once moody and introverted, yet at times triumphalist in its own confidence, even the songs which may elude the listener at first will eventually become treasured friends (eg Marlène, Lolita nie en bloc). Still the eponymous hero of the piece remains track six, with an empowering riff which will stay with me forever… Si tu es français et que tu ne possède pas ce disque, tant pire que tu ne l’aie pas écouté, crois-moi et vas l’acheter tout de suite!
