Dont be fooled by these having “only” 2100mAh – these are low self discharge batteries and will perform alot better than standard NiMH (or NiCd) batteries.

This means that if you charge these and leave them around for a month, they wont have lost their charge – they are there when you need them, you dont need to think to charge in advance. I think if you leave them for 2 years they only lose 20% – amazing.

With these, there’s no reason to be buying alkaline or older rechargables, these are the bees knees.

With regards to chargers, “overnight” chargers (cheapest on amazon is UniRoss X-Press 150 Classic Charger inc 4 x AA 2100 mAh Rechargeable Batteries) are kinder for your batteries than the sprint/fast chargers which give your batteries a beating – so only buy a fast charger for these if you dont mind replacing your batteries sooner.

These are excellent bateries. For quite a while I’ve been looking for a technology that’ll replace my Ni-Mh cells. Due to low self-dischange level these easily outperform my 2800MAh GPs. The key is that 2800 mah standard cells will loose 20% of their charge in the first week or two after removed from the charger then more with time.

I would recommend these batteries if:

a) You’re using these in a device that does not require a lot of power hence you’ll be directing most of the charge to the device and not to self-discharge leaks.

b) If you store your batteries for a while before (during) travel and don’t want to recharge your cells right before leaving house for longer life.

However to use in a power-hungry device that requires often recharges anyway I’d recommend going with old-styled Hi-Mhs, I think those will save you cash and have larger capacity for the buck.

Overall, these are excellent batteries, stay charged and power your devices instead of leaking into the outside world leaving you with a dead torchin the middleof a mountainairing trip.

I bought some of these originally in a pack with a charger and have been buying more packs as the non-rechargeable batteries I’ve been using round the house die. I’ve found them to be reliable in all my remotes and clocks, and they’ve been brilliant in my wii controllers and wii-fit board too – lasting well over a month between charges when used for 45 minutes to an hour every day. Highly recommended.

I use these in my wireless keyboard and mouse.

I hope the the “longlife” means less frequent charging of keyboard batteries compared to my old 2300mAh ones.

Seems to charge OK in my old UNiRoss Sprint 1H AAB03006-13 charger.

No problems after two months. So I am happy so far.

I will be very happy if it maintains performance for at least three years.

These batteries are brilliant. I got totally fed up with charging normal MiMH batteries and then finding that they were almost fully discharged within a month or so even though they had not been used very much during this time. These last for so much longer as they discharge so much slower. It’s just like having traditional alkaline batteries but with the ability to recharge them again & again. I use them in my Wii remotes, my Wii Fit board and also in my son’s VTech kids digital camera. No more flat batteries just when you want to use them any more!

You really can’t go wrong with Uniross, quality brand and very good value. Amazon came up trumps on the price, couldn’t find them cheaper anywhere else.
