This Uniross charger has the advantage of being compact; it plugs straight into the wall with no trailing leads. We’ve given one each to the kids, effectively devolving responsibility for keeping their portable music gadgets going. It is easy to insert batteries, and an advantage is that it can take the most common AAA, AA and R6 sizes. Built-in LEDs let you know when it’s charging. It takes around 14 hours for a full charge, so you have to think ahead a bit.

I must say I’ve come to be a bit sceptical about the alleged advantages of rechargeable batteries. I’ve never got the claimed hours of use and they seem to run down quickly, even when not in use – something they’re not meant to. Perhaps I’m just using the wrong batteries. Still, if you have gadgets which eat their way through batteries, this is well worth a go – it’s particularly good value for money and is quite versatile.

I got this because my Satmap 10 eats batteries for breakfast. Good no frills charger, used every day whilst away on Holiday last week. Batteries are top norch – run my satmap 10 for 8 hours+. Definitely good value for money.

Delivered on time. The batteries lasts for a 4-5 days easily when used with the talking doll that my daughter plays with. I had Duracell charger earlier and I found this equally good if not better. Compact, goes straight into the socket so no cables to take care of. This is not a rapid charger but I tend to do over night charging anyway as batteries get fully charged in 8-10 hrs time.

Does a good job, and the batteries hold a lot of charge. I bought it to replace a similar one I had. I am sure the previous version had a cut-out function when the batteries were fully charged. This model does not have this, but automatically turns off after 10 hrs, which is fine, as I only tend to re-charge when batteries are exhausted.

Does seem to cock up on the AAAs, pretending they are fully charged after 10mins. I have to stop and start it again as if resetting it. Also for AAs it’s 3hrs for 4 and 1hr is for 2.
