This holder has a firm grip on my ipod and sits tight to my cars window. I’m glad I didn’t spend money on one of the more expensive models. Highly recommended.

The grips for holding your PDA, phone, Ipod etc are very adjustable and seem to work OK. I would guess that the ratched mechanism will wear out eventually but should last a couple of years I would think. The swan neck is good and long, although it does tend to bounce around a bit. Also the suction mount is very cheap and therefore doesn’t stick on to the windscreen very well. The mechanism for sucking onto the screen is also a bit weedy. I would probably spend more on a better mount.

Very well made. Swan neck very strong. Been stuck on windscreen for about 4 weeks now and has not fallen off.

Fine piece of kit, good long stretch and goes wide enough to hold my sat-nav, as the one that came with it was total carp.

Although on arrival the Universal iPod Car Holder seemed like a great buy, it appears to be a sturdy, well contained package at a very respectable price, especially when compared to other iPod car holders on the market. Although it does not come with any instructions on how to assemble it, it is fairly self-explanatory, and did not cause any problems. The holder itself is secure and seems to keep the iPod, of seemingly any sized, although I personally used it for the old shaped iPod Nano, and the arm on which it sits is easily, yet securely adjustable for any journey.

The downfall, therefore, of the product is the suction, I had mine attached to my windscreen, and having got it locked on properly (although obviously the lack of instructions made me partially dubious) I set off. It was only on its second journy (the first be relatively short) that it fell off, and now refuses to suction back onto the windscreen, or any other surface be it at that. The prodcut just seems to be too heavy for the strength of the suction cup.

What appears to be a very good buy turned out to be a saddening reminder of the phrase ‘you get what you pay for’.
