UNIVERSAL Quad Four way LNBF for Sky Sky+ Plus HD

Got a Freesat installation about a year ago and recently decided to upgrade to a HD plus PVR box which would mean getting a double or quad LNB receiver. Decided on this receiver partly on the basis of the manufacturer’s mark on the side (MIT as seen in the picture) as this was the same manufacturer as our original installation LNB. Ordered this and it arrived in a secure box a couple of days later. There were no installation instructions in the package and I was a bit surprised to find an LNB from a different manufaturer (Zinwell) in the box, but after reading up online on the installation of LNBs and watching a few YouTube videos on installation I went ahead and installed it.

Installation took 15 minutes (it would have taken less, but I wrapped far too much amalgamating tape around the connection so had to remove it and wrap a shorter strip!) and on switching on the TV the Freesat box showed 100% signal strength and 100% signal quality. Great! Didn’t have to adjust the orientation of the dish, the LNB arm (or even the LNB orientation in the arm adapter) – it literally was plug and go. So now I’m set up to get the HD box, and as a bonus the standard Freesat box will get relocated to the bedroom because of the spare sockets on the LNB.

In the month since installation the quad LNB has provided a signal at least as good as our original single LNB receiver for SD programmes (got lay a second cable and get the HD box yet) and was considerably cheaper than calling out an engineer for installation. So based on the above, if you can follow instructions and don’t mind getting up on a ladder to do the installation, I’d recommend this product.
