All Bottled Up

Possibly the best gift for wine lovers ever invented. Whether you’re taking a bottle round to dinner at a friend’s house or giving a good bottle to someone as a present this is probably the most ingenious puzzle solving challenge ever made. Will the lucky recipient be able to free the bottle from the puzzle? Instructions: simply remove the puzzle from the box replace the card bottle with your best bottle of plonk. Then follow the included instruction sheet to correctly place your bottle in the puzzle place it back in the box and hand it to the lucky recipient. At first sight it appears laughably simple to open but first impressions are deceptive. It’s hugely entertaining watching the recipient go from cocky to puzzled to deeply frustrated – especially whilst everyone else is chipping in with their advice… No loop that bit over there slip that toggle round the whatsit etc. The recipient will feel they deserve every last drop if they do finally manage to crack it. If they don’t aside from you crowing you can put them out of their misery as it does come with release instructions. All Bottled Up is an ingenious gift idea for that ‘perfect host’ and fits standard wine herb vinegar and olive oil bottles (for non-booze drinkers). It’s a great party piece and can be used again and again unless someone gets so frustrated they bring out the power tools. (Does not include bottle!) Features: ‘All Bottled Up’ puzzle Works with standard wine herb vinegar olive oil and pop bottles Includes wooden puzzle pieces linking cord and instructions Does not include wine! Includes instructions Please Note: Colours may vary. Size: Assorted puzzle pieces: largest 14.5 x 10 x 10cm smallest 3 x 2 x 2cm

Tap Corkscrew

Tap Corkscrew

We’re not ones to encourage imbibing vast quantities of plonk of a Tuesday night but if you’re a regular bottle-botherer then you need to get your (clean) hands on this Tap Corkscrew. Ideally fashioned into the shape of an easy-to-turn bathroom tap this squeaky-clean bottle-opener is perfect if you’ve taken to drinking in the bathroom. Which is fine. Honest. Think about it though – conventional corkscrews aren’t the easiest items to grasp. Wouldn’t it be that little bit less painful to grasp a handy tap instead? The only drawback we can think of is that you might get too accustomed to yanking taps and inadvertently cause some serious plumbing damage but you’ll have to get through a lot of wine before it gets to that stage.

V Gauge Wine Preserver

Posted by Notcot on Jun 10, 2012 in Gadgets
V Gauge Wine Preserver

Sometimes you just fancy one glass of wine but don’t want to waste the rest of the bottle. The V Gauge is the wine stopper that puts an end to waste. What makes it stand out from other wine stoppers is that it has its own built-in pressure gauge. ‘Why on earth do you need a gauge?’ we hear you cry. Most wine stoppers work just fine but they all have one fatal flaw – when the vacuum deteriorates oxygen seeps into the wine and before you know it your bottle of plonk has magically transformed into vinegar. The V Gauge is quite staggeringly simple to use (we bought a bottle of wine in the interest of research to test it out) – you just pop it in the top of the bottle pump out the air with the vacuum pump (included) and watch the needle on the gauge swing into the red. Once it’s there you can stop pumping knowing that the there’s enough of a vacuum to keep your wine fresh for ages. The best part is that you’ll be able to see when the vacuum needs to be topped up as the needle will start dropping out of the red. There’s no greater sin than wasted wine so keep your vino fresh with the V Gauge.
